      <image:title>Neurofeedback - Neurofeedback</image:title>
<image:caption>Neurofeedback training is a form of biofeedback that uses EEG/brainwave information to help teach an individual how to regulate their brainwave activity and improve their brain function. Neurofeedback training is a non-invasive therapeutic approach to enhance neuroregulation and metabolic function for a variety of conditions. Additionally, Neurofeedback uses the model of operant conditioning, a form of learning that associates behaviour with a stimulus. How it works To monitor brainwave activity and train the brain, sensors are gently placed on the client’s scalp to read EEG (brainwave) activity. These EEG signals are monitored by a computer-based system, which provides the proper feedback by means of video display and/or game, along with audio signals. This feedback provides reinforcement to the brain, which promotes regulation and healing. By improving the brain’s ability to self-regulate, clients feel better emotionally and physically as well as report improved attention and concentration. With regular sessions, symptoms associated with brain dysregulation will improve.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Neurostimulation - Neurostimulation</image:title>
<image:caption>Neurostimulation is a non-invasive approach to help retrain your brain without you having to do anything. Magnetic (pEMF) and/or low levels of electric current (feels like tapping) gently nudges your brain in the direction we want to train it. Photobiomodulation can also be added to the session using red or near infrared light. This can drastically reduce the amount of time you spend training, giving you more time for all the things that matter to you. How does it work? Our body is made up of chemicals, each one carrying an electrical charge. This charge helps send signals to communicate and allow our body to function correctly. Neurostimulation uses an electoral charge to help neurons either activate or rest. If your brain was over activated or not communicating enough, this comfortably gets your neurons starting to talk to each other and being efficient.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Biofeedback - Biofeedback</image:title>
<image:caption>Biofeedback is a safe, non-invasive, and drug-free treatment that enables an individual to learn how to change their physiological responses to stress, tension, and pain. How does it work? Precise monitoring devices are used to measure physiological activity within the body, such as heart rate, respiration, muscle activity, galvanic skin response, and skin temperature. These instruments provide feedback information to the individual regarding their physiological activity. The individual then learns how to make positive physical changes, such as relaxing one’s muscles, breathing more slowly, and lowering heart rate. The goal is to eventually produce these physical changes on one’s own without the help of technology.</image:caption>

<image:title>Dr. Taylor Williams Capozziello - Taylor Williams Capozziello PhD, BCB, BCN, CMT</image:title>
<image:caption>Dr. Taylor Capozziello graduated with her PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Psychophysiology in 2019. Prior to her graduate studies, she started as a bodyworker in 2002. Trained in a variety of modalities that include craniosacral and trigger point, she immediately recognized the advantage to her clients in having a wide range of techniques to address their individual concerns. This background pairs well with biofeedback work. She obtained her BA from San Francisco State University in psychology with emphasis in kinesiology and holistic health, which she added as a field of study prior to graduation. The connection between the mind and the body continued to fascinate her, and in 2012, she returned to SFSU. In 2014, she was accepted in the doctoral program in psychology at Saybrook University. It was during this time she was introduced to neurofeedback and deepened her understanding of biofeedback. She continues to enrich her training through classes all over the world for biofeedback and neurofeedback. Biofeedback greatly assists in identifying underlying issues in targeted therapeutic strategies and enables her clients to participate more directly in their own healing.</image:caption>

<image:title>QEEG Brain Mapping - How can this be used?</image:title>
<image:caption>As you can imagine, there is a long list of how a qEEG can be used. At Elite Physiology the main way we use it is to develop a training program for clients based on their individual goals. For example, if we see slow waves in the front, over the executive network, we would likely want to train them down so the person doesn’t feel as spacey or trouble concentrating. But, if a person was fine here, there would be no reason to down train slow waves in that location. A qEEG lets us see how different areas of the brain are functioning and communicating together. This is helping a person reach peak performance by removing areas of obstruction and increasing production of areas they want.</image:caption>

<image:title>QEEG Brain Mapping - What does getting a qEEG look like?</image:title>
<image:caption>A person will arrive, sit down and have the 19 spots on their head prepared with an alcohol wipe, a mild scrub to remove oils, then the cap will be placed on them. A gel will be used to fill the cups in each sensor. Finally, ear clips will be added with a paste as well. A person then sits in a chair for 10 minutes, then the final 10 minutes (20 minutes total) is done with the client sitting with their eyes closed, while staying awake. After this, all the data has been gathered and gel will be removed from your hair, although it is advised to bring a cap or hair tie after, as your hair will be messier than you came in. But, don’t worry, this is only for the assessment and the training will clean out all pastes after each session.</image:caption>

<image:title>ERP Testing - How can this be used?</image:title>
<image:caption>This can be used to see how fast your brain is responding to stimuli. It measures the time it takes your brain to respond to a stimulus from each of the 19 sensors. This lets us see how certain areas of your brain are either responding, or not, to events. This gives a better insight into a person’s daily struggles and strengths.</image:caption>

<image:title>ERP Testing - What does it look like for getting an ERP?</image:title>
<image:caption>Check out “what does it look like for getting a qEEG” as it will start exactly that way. After gathering the qEEG, you will have a computer mouse given to you to use in your dominant hand. A series of test that are either visual or auditory. For visual there may be a picture of 2 images, when you see both images be the same thing, you click the mouse. For auditory, you may click the mouse when you hear an odd tone. These will continue for a set time, usually around 20 minutes. Afterwards, just as in the qEEG, you will be cleaned up after all the data is collected.</image:caption>
